This hand carved stone elephant was bought by our client in Zimbabwe but was accidentally broken into many pieces. The technicians at Rota Design reassembled the pieces roughly filling missing sections and gaps with modeling clay.

The figure was then recreated digitally using 3D scanning. The right hand image shows the point cloud data obtained. Damaged areas were smoothed and the skin texture was recreated using virtual modeling tools.

The output was a file in the correct format to enable our client to pass this to a third party processor who manufactured a bronze figure. The elephant lives again but in a new guise!
