Rota Design and materials testing . . .



The data sheets provided by polymer suppliers give information regarding the likely physical characteristics of any material under normal processing conditions. Defining 'normal' is in our experience impossible since there are many variables which come into play when a finished product is placed under stress in its working environment.

In November 2007 Rota Design invested in a materials testing machine and ancillary equipment to enable us to test materials in-house and to more accurately predict the performance of the material with regard to the design and function of a product in its service conditions.

Operating temperature, loading conditions and the natural creep characteristics of a plastic material are critical factors in designing safe products fit for use over a defined lifetime of many years.

Hence, our policy of on-going investment in testing procedures and equipment to place our designs at the leading edge of current practice in the rotational moulding industry.
