Rota Design worked with their client in the design development of a 3 metre diameter navigation buoy. The environmental conditions in which it will operate are obviously of paramount concern together with handling and maintenance aspects.

A modular approach was adopted where interchangeable sections rotationally moulded using different coloured materials and with differing shapes to assure conformity to strict international maritime standards.

Throughout the design, a quality assured methodology was adopted by manual calculation and /or finite element analysis being undertaken.
