Rota Design uses 3D scanning technologies to capture the surface detail of existing physical parts.

The data is converted to a digital format for further processing on computer based systems. CNC tool paths are developed from these data so it is vital that accurate 3D CAD files be created from the subject model.

Post processing operations are required to convert the data into the correct format and to patch any holes left during the scanning process, etc.

Once captured the model may be easily scaled or modified to suit. The process is used frequently in reverse or re-engineering operations.
